Good Autumn one and fall,   yes, it is indeed.  The leaves have really taken a turn in just the past week or so. The color on the hillsides has just been fantastic. I would have to say that I think this week coming may possibly be peak foliage for us. Yeah, but what about the fishing you ask???????  Well, some people may say it has slowed down.

   My experience and only my opinion. It's that time of the season. Some days the fishing may be slow and other day it's right where it's suppose to be. This time of the year we have strange fronts moving through. Short sudden cold snaps, it will shut the fish down a little and turn off the insect activity. I've heard a lot of less than favorable reports of the fishing  this past week. We've always found fish every day we went out on the week which was every single day. People often ask what's up with the fishing it's not very good, the last time I was here it was awesome??  "That's what they say" The bottom line is, I don't know what to tell you. I wasn't with you, I don't know where you were or what you were doing. It could just be the fish were off or maybe the fish just weren't there at that time,or maybe you just weren't doing it right. It's hard to say.I'm not saying that being with a guide always assures the ultimate in fish catching experience. But a quality local guide who knows the water intimately and recognizes seasonal changes, can at times make all the difference.

   Today was a classic example, we did a double drift on the Andro. We've had a couple of warmer days and today was rainy. We crushed fished, mostly on dry flies. Where two days ago we worked really hard for an ample amount of fish in th course of the day. Today far exceeded my expectations for the day and I would certainly not expect that again for the rest of the season.Today there were feeding. But who knows that's why they call it fishing and not catching.

   The positive side is that there has been some more salmon being caught in the river and more fish moving in. We've had a decent rain today which should put a little more water in the feeder streams and consequently more in the river which should help the salmon run.

   Keep your chins and think positively, she ain't over yet.

PEACE Tight Lines,        BILL   >~::;}'>
