Upland Hunting Guide Service
We offer upland bird hunting guide service October 1st through early November. Hunt for ruffed grouse, woodcock and pheasant over our trained German Shorthair Pointers or bring your own dog. Join us for a North Woods hunting adventure. Let us show you the grouse woods of northern New England!
The day afield begins at 8 am at our office where you meet your guide. From there we take to the woods. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch and return to your cabin in time to relax before dinner. Our experienced upland hunting guide, Dave Trahan, owns On Point Kennel. Selling premium quality, versatile dog training equipment, Dave also breeds and trains hunting dogs. He works dogs every day using the equipment they sell. Briar Déjà and Fanny all Deutsch Kurzhaar-German Shorthaired Pointers have completed the entire necessary test required for breeding in the German regulation. All dogs are tested in the NAVHDA test system. Together they hunt in New England and the Mid-West United States. As member of NAVHDA and NADKC North American Deutsch Kurzhaar Club they support testing and breeding regulations. Dave has been a NH guide for several years working with Lopstick Lodge to provide you a hunt of a lifetime.
Joining us in 2015, Sean Searles has been hunting and fishing since he was five years old. Sean hunts through all of the north east and the mid west. His goal is to hunt as many native, wild upland species in the US with his own dogs as possible. He has been upland bird hunting in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine for well over 12 years with extensive experience on pheasant preserve hunting, grouse and woodcock in the Great North Woods. Together with his two German Shorthair Pointers, Moonshine and Schultz, Sean has been guiding in Vermont for three years and now in New Hampshire. Sean also has a passion for puddle duck hunting remote ponds and marshes in the back woods with small spreads and fast action.
Advance reservations are encouraged for bird hunting guide service due to the season length and guide availability.

Thank you so much for such an enjoyable hunt. Despite our poor marksmanship we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
